Responsibilities

Dr. Raji Sundaramoorthy coordinates and manages photovoltaic reliability efforts under the PVMC Reliability Technical Working Group for both internal member collaborative projects and consortium partner sponsored development activities. She conducts Technical Working Group meetings with members across the PV value chain to shortlist and prioritizes the projects relevant to industry, design project plans and work with consortium members to detail and implement the selected projects. Dr. Raji is also responsible for research into CIGS reliability physics at both the device and the package level to characterize failure modes and identify the failure mechanisms using a wide array of different characterization techniques available at PVMC and CNSE analytical laboratories.

Dr. Raji Sundaramoorthy's responsibilities include the generation and testing of physical failure models and testing protocols to ensure reliability in CIGS solar cells. She also manages a roof top testing facility for continuous monitoring and data analysis of 50kW c-Si, CIGS and CdTe panels in order to relate the observations to indoor testing. She utilizes the data under the reliability and outdoor testing programs to support PVMC cost and commercialization analysis models relating to market opportunities supporting the “bankable” large scale deployment of CIGS
