Joseph J. Corasanti served as the president and chief executive officer of Conmed Corporation (NASDAQ: CNMD) from 2006-14. Conmed is a manufacturer of surgical products and equipment for orthopedic and general surgery procedures. Prior to assuming this position, he served as president and chief operating officer, executive vice president and general manager of the company and as its vice president of legal affairs and general counsel. Corasanti joined Conmed in 1993 and has served as its director from 1994 until 2014. Before joining Conmed, Corasanti was an associate attorney with the law firm of Morgan, Wenzel and McNicholas in Los Angeles, California.
Corasanti is also a member of the Board of Directors of IIVI, Inc. (Nasdaq: IIVI), a manufacturer of engineered materials and optoelectronic components including silicon carbide and compound semiconductors and devices for use in telecommunications, data communications, military, consumer markets and industrial applications. Mr. Corasanti also serves as the chair of the audit committee for IIVI.
Mr. Corasanti is also a member of the Board of Directors of SRC Inc., a research and development company that provides products, services and solutions in the areas of defense, environment and intelligence. Mr. Corasanti also serves as chair of the audit committee of SRC Inc.
Appointed to the College Council in 2008, Corasanti holds a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College and a juris doctor degree from Whittier College School of Law. He graduated cum laude from Whittier College School of Law where he was also an editor of the Whittier Law Review. He was also an extern clerk for Judge Robert Boochever for the Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California. He is admitted to the state bar of both New York and California.
